Euroshop 2017 – breeding ground for retail innovators
From 5 to 9 March 2017, part of our SLE team was in Düsseldorf, Germany, with the Managing Director of our British partner Shoplight and representatives from the Austrian partner Exceedation Lighting to showcase the latest lighting solutions for retail.
There were 18 halls on the exhibition space of 127,000 m2 which hosted 113,000 visitors from 138 countries and 2,368 exhibitors from 61 countries all over the world.
The event was organised into seven clearly defined dimensions (POP Marketing, Expo & Event Marketing, Retail Technology, Lighting, Visual Merchandising, Shop Fitting & Store Design and Food Tech & Energy Management) and it also comprised of several forums with high-calibre speakers and thought leaders.
Once again, Euroshop proved to be no. 1 exhibition for retail. Experts around the world shared their ideas and exchanged opinions on the future of retail. From my point of view, the most popular topics were IoT and connectivity.

For the visitors who were looking for a way how to light up their business, there were some 200 exhibitors from the lighting sector. Reflecting the main focus of EuroShop 2017, namely retail digitalisation, tailor-made omnichannel solutions and emotionalisation of the shopping experience in the store, SLE presented three solutions: Smart Mirror, Dynamic Shop Window, and Stimulating Supermarkets. All three are based on the idea of energy saving, sustainability, and orientation on customers‘ needs, as we believe that these are the values that can change the face of retail lighting as we know it.
Unique value of our products got spotted also by LuxReview, British-based magazine which regularly reaches 500,000 lighting users and specifiers and describes itself as independent guide to lighting. In their article What did we learn from Euroshop 2017? they mention Smart Mirror as one of the exhibition's stand-outs.

Together with our partners Shoplight and Exceedation Lighting, we gained valuable experience by engaging in numerous discussions with visitors who were both retail professionals and innovation enthusiasts. The event was also a great opportunity to see the market’s positive reactions to our solutions. We left Germany with kind memories, inspirational ideas, great potential for new partnerships, and huge drive for new challenges.
